KEY FEATURES

Flywheel

The JLL Velox 2 Road Training exercise bike includes a flywheel that weighs 9 KG. Some users have mentioned that this flywheel design is a little on the light side. However, I noticed that the flywheel works incredibly smoothly to make it feel like a road bike. As a result, I was able to ride for long periods and get the feeling as though I was cycling with a real bike. This is also due to how JLL Fitness has designed the flywheel to mimic the forward momentum in the same way that a regular bike works.

The smooth flywheel also operates quietly which I found to be highly beneficial as it allowed me to workout with the Velox 2 Road Training bike from home without disturbing anyone.

Direct Belt Driven System

The direct-belt-driven system is another factor that added to the quiet operation of the JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike. Moreover, it operates smoothly and contributes to enabling me to cycle well for long periods.

You’re also able to cycle backwards and forwards with this bike due to how the belt-driven system allows you to pedal in both directions. This is great for providing you with some variety when it comes to how you workout.

Belt-driven bikes require less maintenance compared to chain-driven bikes. This is a big factor to consider as it means that you can spend more time cycling with the Velox 2 Road Training bike and less time worrying about maintenance.

Electronic Magnetic Resistance Functions

Users have mentioned how the mains-powered electro magnetic resistance system available with the JLL Velox 2 Road Training indoor cycling bike comes with plenty of resistance options. There are 32 magnetic resistance levels to choose from. As a result, you can feel confident in being able to select the level that works best for your workout goals.

The electro magnetic resistance available with the JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike can be easily changed by using the dial that has been fitted to the frame. I liked how I was able to easily access the dial and change the magnetic resistance level while working out.

In addition to this, JLL Fitness has implemented 8 rear gears and 3 front gears to the JLL Velox Road 2 indoor cycling machine. This meant that I could be incredibly specific about the level of magnetic resistance that I wanted to use whilst working out. Having a geared system also made it feel more like I was riding a regular bike.

The electronic magnetic system also allows you to change the resistance on the handlebars and monitor. This is a super convenient way to quickly and effortlessly change the magnetic resistance levels without having to stop and start your workouts.

Monitor

JLL has included tons of useful features with the monitor that includes programs, Bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to set multiple user accounts. The JLL Velox 2 Road training indoor cycling machine also displays time, average speed, distance, wattage, heart rate, and calories.

You can use these statistics to set goals for each workout to aim for whilst using the JLL Velox 2 Road Training indoor cycling machine. I liked being able to see my stats whilst working out as it kept me motivated to either reach or beat my previous stats. I also liked being able to choose between the 6 available preset programs.

These road training programmes include heart rate control, body fat, recovery, and other manual programs that can be set. This is excellent for allowing you to be given some guidance when it comes to using the JLL Velox 2 indoor bike trainer for working out.

In addition to this, you can set up to 4 user accounts via the monitor. Therefore, if multiple people in your home wanted to workout and track their personal stats on the Velox 2 Road Training indoor cycling machine, they can simply choose their user account.

Users have been impressed with the Bluetooth connectivity features that are included with the JLL Velox 2 Road Training indoor cycling machine. The JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike is compatible with Kinomap, Fitshow, and Zwift. These are workout apps that can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play and they provide you with even more insight into your workouts. Not to mention, you can connect a heart rate band via Bluetooth to the JLL Velox 2 Road Training indoor cycling machine. (A heart rate band isn’t included with this bike).

Handlebars

JLL Fitness has integrated an ergonomic handlebar design with the JLL Velox 2 Road which helped me to feel comfortable during my longer workouts. Moreover, the handlebars can be vertically adjusted.

This means that you can set the handlebars to a height that suits you best. I found that the height adjustments and ergonomic design enabled me to find the best riding posture that replicated how it feels to ride an outdoor bike.

In addition to the adjustable and comfortability factors, I also liked how pulse rate sensor plates have been built into the handlebars. You can simply hold onto the pulse plates while exercising and be given a heart rate reading in real-time.

Adjustable Racing Saddle & Pedals

The saddle has been designed with a comfortable cushion that allowed me to cycle for long periods without experiencing discomfort. Furthermore, the saddle can be adjusted vertically and horizontally. This adjustable seat made it easier for me to set the height in regards to the handlebars and pedals to create the best riding posture on the JLL Velox 2 Road. Users have appreciated how you can flip the pedals and make them SPD compatible. The pedals have also been made with straps and toe cages. This is excellent for enabling you to securely place your feet on the pedals and cycle with more stability. I found that I wasn’t concerned about my feet slipping whilst I was cycling hard.

Device Stand & Water Bottle Holder

During my longer periods of steady-state cardio workouts, I was able to make great use of the built-in device stand that’s included with the JLL Velox 2. This enabled me to place my tablet in the holder and keep myself entertained while cycling.

JLL has also integrated a water bottle holder which has been placed in a convenient position so that I could grab a bottle and stay hydrated whilst working out.

Transport

Wheels have been added to one side on the bottom of this exercise bike which came in handy when it came to moving the bike around my home. I liked being able to easily lift one end of the bike and wheel it around to a different room in my home where it was out of the way when I wasn’t using it.

This is a fantastic feature for those of you who are worried about how much space an indoor cycling bike would take up.

Overall Verdict:

Overall, I was impressed with the number of high-quality features that the JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike has to offer. All of the combined features helped towards making it feel as though I was cycling a real outdoor bike and experiencing a more professional ride.

In particular, the mains-powered electro magnetic resistance system was a standout. I liked how I was able to choose between the 32 levels of resistance by either using the resistance dial or the controls on the LCD monitor. Not to mention, being able to use the front and back gears helped me to be specific about how I set the resistance to workout with the JLL Velox 2 exercise bike.

The rubber belt system meant that I didn’t need to spend time maintaining the JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike. It also meant that I could cycle smoothly and quietly from home. This is a big factor to consider when choosing an indoor exercise bike for your home.

Being able to choose between several workout programs is a superb feature with this powered road training bike that newbies can make use of. If you’re feeling unsure about how to approach working out with an exercise bike, you can select one of the presets or manual programs based on whether you want to improve your fitness or lose body fat.

If you’re planning for multiple people in your home to use the bike, you’ll be pleased with how you can set up to 4 users. This means that each person can select their account and choose workouts based on their fitness levels and goals.

The number of adjustable features included was also fantastic. I liked being able to adjust the seat horizontally and vertically as it meant that I could find the best riding position. Moreover, the ergonomic non-slip handlebars allowed me to make vertical adjustments too.

I was a little disappointed with how the flywheel only weighs 9 KG. This is because you may find that the bike isn’t able to withstand more intense workouts from experienced athletes. However, I found that this wasn’t an issue for my steady-state cardio workouts.

What I Liked About This Exercise Bike

The design of the SPD-compatible pedals that have been fitted to the JLL Velox 2 helped me to feel incredibly secure. This is due to how the pedals have a foot cage and toe straps. As a result, I was able to securely place my feet in the foot cages and tighten the straps around my toes. Subsequently, I wasn’t concerned about my feet slipping out of the pedals which was especially helpful when I was cycling faster.

In addition to this, the water bottle holder and device stand were features that I made use of. I liked how I could easily grab my water bottle and keep myself hydrated during my workouts. The tablet holder was also great for letting me place my tablet securely on the stand and watch movies and TV shows to keep me entertained during my steady-state cardio workouts.

Bluetooth connectivity is also a major plus as it allows you to connect the powered road training bike wirelessly to heart rate bands and devices. This means that you can use apps to gain more information about your workouts.

Things That Could Have Been Better

The weight of the flywheel is the main area of concern with the JLL Velox 2 Road Training bike. It weighs 9 KG which is a little light compared to some of JLL’s other models. Therefore, people who are looking to cycle more intensely may find that this bike doesn’t have a heavy enough flywheel.
