Best Exercise Bike for Garage Gym

Best exercise bike for garage gym

Gearing up for the best exercise bike to put in your home garage gym space

When we think of garages, we can often think of dodgy grunge bands headed by 15 yr old 90s kids. Some of us may, unfortunately, think their garage is merely a space for their car. In reality, garage space can be life-changing when it comes to making the most of your property, so if you haven’t already decided to turn your garage into a gym, then we’re going to help make the final step today.

One of the best things to remember about home garage gyms is that they’re big. Okay, we all know that. But what that means for you, instead of just putting a mini-fridge in with electrolyte-inducing liquids, is that the only thing you’re restricted by is budget, not space. Sometimes you may have to think of a space-saving indoor cycle, but more often than not, you’ll be able to buy any machine you want.

So what could be good for a garage?

Truthfully, there’s no right answer here. You could get an upright bike with infinite magnetic resistance, top exercise bikes for cardio workouts only, a body rider fan bike for cooling, or a peloton bike because, well, you deserve it (although seriously overrated). Without hitting you with too many variants and options here, let’s move on to the main body of this guide, where I’ll spin you through some of my favourite choices for the best exercise bike for garage gym spaces.

Overview

We spoke of the options available in your garage space, and to me, it’s undeniable. But what else I can’t argue against is that purchasing the indoor cycle with the most onboard variety is always going to give you more potential to maximise your fitness journey.

And the NordicTrack Commercial S27i is one of the most varied bikes I’ve ever ridden.

With a 27″ 360 rotating degree HD touchscreen loaded with on-demand classes, streamable workout routines, crystal clear audio, and programs for working out off of the bike (yes, this machine comes with free dumbells and non-cycle workout routines), you won’t find a better fitness resource going.

But it doesn’t stop there…

With a great range from 10% to 20% and other marks, the incline and decline settings really help to recreate that verticality and give you a real challenge as a result. At the end of the day, you’re in your garage, and concrete walls don’t always give you the best motivation. If you’re tired of or worried about having to use your imagination, then, again, the S27i has one more realism trick up its sleeve; giving you guided tours of HD locations with great attention to detail and immersion really brings the outside world to your front room. Naturally, the weighted flywheel with a focus on fluidity, resistance, and a quiet ride helps add to this too.

In short, this bike has so much more that I’d love to write about. From the dumbells to the aesthetics, NordicTrack has essentially issued one of the most deluxe indoor cycles I’ve ever heard of, so why wouldn’t you add it to your arsenal?

Make the right decision today.

Cons

Overview

Hitting the apex spot in the IC series, the Life Fitness IC8 exercise bike supports the best of trainers and beginners alike. Most importantly, this exercise bike flaunts low maintenance, a solid build, and self-powered generation capability. In short? This entry is built to last, withstand damage and wear, and acts as an economic advantage even after purchase.

Specifically, the combo of a freewheel, right and left leg balance watt reading, drop handlebars, aero grips, advanced monitor AND a fully protected frame – you just don’t see this every day, and for the price, in reality, it’s entirely justified. Beyond the max user weight, this machine is clearly a heavy hitter but what it means to you and your garage gym is that you’re equipping your garage gym with an asset. A spin bike doesn’t appreciate in value, true, but the IC8 does have the guarantees above, and who wouldn’t want a gym that lasts?

But durability and smart power design aren’t everything…

Personally, I love the fact that Life Fitness have now included both right and left power measurement/balance, giving you way more detail and accuracy about your body, your workouts, and sometimes even the bike’s performance (pedal differences). Its robust computer helps to give you data tracking expertise, evolving your workouts through workout tracking and strengthening your game as much as your physique. The performance data available through the TFT computer makes this a tech-house as much as it does a robust machine.

A great machine and absolute powerhouse, solidify your garage gym now.

Overview

With a bike clearly oriented around enhanced workouts, I couldn’t leave this one off the list. Okay, I hear you – maybe you don’t need any guidance at all; you want to ride simply and ride hard, and that’s all you need. But if you think like this, then you’d be missing out on some game-changing workout advancements that could transform you in entirely new ways.

With studio sessions to global workouts and even cross-training options like yoga and full-body sculpting, you’ll discover some of the most fully-fledged and carefully considered fitness options going. And your home gym could transform into a professional health suite at the press of a button. Aspects like iFit are great, too, it’s a wonderful app, and I’d implore you to learn more. In short, it helps to provide data tracking fitness programs and more, and while the free membership can be short, it’s definitely good to check this out.

Some of the best exercise bikes on the market don’t have this much variety, but it’s important to talk about the bike too. So, beyond the somewhat dated looks, I liked how the digital resistance system is so quick and easy to use. To top this, the resistance system works smoothly and quietly, which are always great plus points when using a home exercise bike. Being able to adjust the seat horizontally and vertically was useful for helping me to find the riding position that felt best for me. I also liked how the foot pedals have been made with a wide ergonomic design as it felt comfortable to cycle.

A great bike with rider options and comfort at the forefront of design. I’d get this bike in an instant, not because of the engineering or the comfort but because I couldn’t deny how excited I get by new guided workouts on a regular basis.

Make the purchase today.

  • More serious look may only be for some

Overview

After reviewing some pretty cutting-edge upright bikes, it’s about time we got onto my favourite recumbent bike on the market at the moment. It’s heavy-duty, advanced in its tech department, and looks like a beast, oh and it’s one of the comfiest rides I’ve had the pleasure of engaging in.

But heavy-duty doesn’t always mean that it’s built well…

Thankfully, the Sole LCR Recumbent Exercise Bike does conform to the expectation of a solid build. This bike is designed for those like me who want a more serious experience, and wow, does the console look a good deal, product dimensions, 1-40 resistance levels, and max user weight reflect that. With a 23.5 stone (150kg) max user weight, I or anyone I know would never have to worry here. In this sense, it’s safe. And the more serious the trainer, the more safety considerations should be present.

However, that doesn’t mean this recumbent bike isn’t geared for entertainment and rider enjoyment either.

With features like Integrated Bluetooth Speakers, MP3/Apple connectivity, USB Charging, and a packed console, you can be taking advantage of the reclined, relaxed, and smooth riding experience that a recumbent indoor bike offers in style. Fitness doesn’t have to be serious, and this entry reflects the choices that we as riders have – it’s down to us, so equip yourself with a machine that gives you variety and accommodates your mood on the day.

A brilliant entry. Make sure to shortlist it now.

Overview

The word deluxe get’s thrown around a lot in the world of buying and selling stuff. When we hear of the word, we might think of the Ritz or private jets, and we’d be right to think so – everyone seems to want the top tier, most sought-after designs, and if you fall into that category, then the Spirit Johnny G Exercise Bikeis for you.

Spin bikes don’t usually boast this level of premium aspects in their designs, so with features like telemetric heart rate monitoring using both Garmin & Bluetooth chip modules, built-in generator usage and a luxury ergonomic feel for rideability value, let’s get into what makes this machine so popular amongst the best.

There’s always more to exercise than just losing weight, and in fact, you’ll find certain aspects that feel like extras become very much a part of why you love exercising.

From training sessions to the warm-up mode, this bike acts as a great guide to fitness. While limited in parts, it feels like a great-looking, smooth and fluid all-rounder.

I love the way every single Spirit bike creates an experience, not just a tool…

From head to toe, it feels carefully considered and made for those who like detail. But the feel is just as important as the little stuff, so it’s a good job the powerful feel of the Drive train hits me every time I ride this creation.

The Conti Synchroforce HTD and Hutchinson Flexonic Poly V Belts push me, provide a stable workout through operational integrity, and most of all, remind me that this bike doesn’t just look pretty.

In short, this thing is a beautiful, beastly and broad machine. It houses expertly designed components with a focus on precision and feel. So, if you’re feeling up to the best, I’d recommend you make the purchase today.

Conclusion

Indoor bikes to lose weight, recumbent bikes to recover posture and muscle regeneration, heavy-duty frame beasts to withstand a nuclear attack, or the innovative air bike variety to add some spice – there’s always a lot to choose from, and that’s why you’re here with me, to run over these garage gym reviews.
