Overall Verdict:

ICAROS stuns me every time they release a product. With a fair few on the market now, it’s easy to see why they’re so often out of stock. From the games and all-round app design to the actual feel of the balance board, I’d urge any to adopt this into their household in an instant. Mainly, I love how this is a bit of fitness equipment and more… it’s not just a run-of-the-treadmill design, with limited use and relatively low enjoyment, it’s an all-round entertainment system with a great fitness effect. Because this machine targets your whole body while offering up memorable and entertaining experiences, you’re literally guaranteed to get the best of both worlds, and we’ve not even touched on the virtual world yet.

With brilliantly designed VR integration, you can transport your fitness lifestyle into the digital world. Why is this a good thing? Because it opens up a whole new line through which to be motivated, rewarded, and fulfilled. It’s fun, immersive, and ultimately setting you up for a new way of working out – the way we’ll all be working out in the future. Because of this digitally connected training device, we also get more for our space. Digital worlds aren’t limited by the same physical restrictions we face in our front room, home gym, or other tight space. This really adds value to the ICAROS in a way that other fitness equipment can’t, and it’s one of the main reasons I love it so much I can fit it practically anywhere and work out in an almost endless variety of ways.

What I Liked About This VR Exercise Equipment

One of the main things I loved about this entry is that it offers fresh fitness solutions from a lightly built machine. Specifically, I can’t get over how the ICAROS Cloud works your core, builds your lower and upper body muscles, and improves co-ordination and balance through dynamic stability exercises. Brilliant. And through extra exercises like Yoga and Pilates, led by the app, you can also transform this machine into a less intense and gentler training assistant. This all-round approach to workout regimes makes it brilliant for literally everybody.

To enhance this multi-use machine aspect, the ICAROS Cloud comes with 2x additional rubber bands that can be easily attached and used in a multitude of ways. Adding resistance bands to your workout and essentially modifying the Cloud adds a whole new dimension for muscle targeting and workout style, another plus point for ICAROS in creating something truly dynamic.

The digital interface is another component worth noting here. While simple, the digital interface allows you to connect your smartphone, tablet, TV or Pico G2 headset. Simple. But it’s how it allows the App to be used in conjunction with the machine that’s truly inspiring. From full access to a variety of professional ICAROS training and entertaining exergames to an extensive exercise library, you can make use of this almost encyclopedia-like tool to evolve your fitness game every single day. With new routines being developed, on-demand classes, and a host of future updates, the App isn’t just good for today it’s good for as long as you use it.

Not quite as light as the app but still far lighter than most bits of kit, the ICAROS Cloud can easily be transported, relocated and stored away. Weighing at 12 kg you can be safe to know that your kids or other family members can move this with ease too. And if there’s a problem with lifting it, you can roll it across the floor. Too easy. Not only is it the perfect full-body workout machine for the individual in their home, but the ICAROS Cloud can also be used in group workout classes, boutique studios, gyms, and health clubs. It can even be used outdoors if you want to take a venture. Most equipment wants you to keep it inside, so to have this option is great too, think of the garden parties!

Things That Could Have Been Better

For something that boasts a VR orientation, it would be nice to have an actual VR headset included. Now, don’t get me wrong, the Pico G2 4H VR headset is great quality and fairly priced, but as is the case with most brands, I’d rather see a bespoke VR headset or at least across-the-board compatibility – I don’t want to buy an iPhone only to find I need android earphones, it’s just annoying. I do have to note, however, that it doesn’t affect the quality of the product, experience, or value that this machine can bring to you all. Do some research on the Pico VR headset to discover how worthwhile it is and how much it’s going to impact the ICAROS Cloud’s effectiveness.

One last thing I didn’t enjoy so much was how using a tablet can be a pain. The tablet holder isn’t bad at all it’s just a little hard to stay focussed on the fixed screen when I’m usually moving around so much. This can be even trickier with mobile devices. However, besides investing in the Pico headset, which of course you 100% should, the versatility of the machine and the capabilities it possesses outweigh this issue by a country mile.
