Best treadmills UK

With all the constant upgrades and additions to the treadmill ranges, it’s difficult to know which are your best options for 2022.

The fitness world is constantly evolving. And with equipment being upgraded faster than you can keep up you may find that the best treadmill one day isn’t as good the next, and the treadmill you’re purchasing is going to depreciate, and fast.

All of these changes beg the questions:

‘What is the best treadmill at the moment? What is the ideal cheap treadmill? What treadmill features should I be on the lookout for?’

These kinds of questions are exactly why you’re here.

And, while I want to give you the best options possible, it’s important to note that it’s down to you to make the choice.

Over the course of this article, we’ll be unveiling all sorts of things.

Scenarios like, which treadmills help to lose weight the best, what treadmills to use for high-intensity interval training, and the best machine for a decent indoor running experience.

Over this article and the website in general, we’ll be looking at specific components like the best slat belt running surface, a typical motor-powered belt, a curved treadmill, maximum speed considerations and so much more.

And all of this article’s parts are aimed to show you the best treadmills in the UK.

The iFit addition to this treadmill will incline and decline according to the trainer you have chosen ensuring you get a thorough workout in from the comfort of your own home! Not to mention features like the sports built-in speakers, workout stats and more. Solid treadmill.

  • Easy Lift assist
  • Tablet holder
  • Convenient repositioning
  • Cushioned impact reduction
Cons
  • Not the strongest motor
  • Customer service can be slow

Overview

The Nordictrack T7.0 is a great treadmill for its price and offers many features that you might not find in other treadmills, or any other beginner fitness equipment of this calibre, at the same price.

The motor is not the most powerful but it is still decent enough, the incline range is also pretty good and offers a challenge even to athletes.

Moreover, the space-saver design makes this machine ideal for small apartments or places where space is an issue. And if the motor or running noise is a problem, like most treadmills, you can use the slow speeds for a walking mode.

The built-in transportation wheels and Easy Lift assist feature help with enabling convenient repositioning of this treadmill which definitely makes it stand out.

This fitness equipment comes with a certified personal trainer and also has many other integrated features. With a balanced non-flex roller you can now get a great workout in without worrying about injuries.

The main con (if you see it as a negative that is) of this machine is the hidden costs associated with the monthly fee for iFit which is required if you want to use all the features of this machine (like the potential for pre-programmed workouts) to its full capacity.

Apart from that, this is a decent running machine and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality treadmill, with a decent running surface and forgiving running platform without spending too much money.

  • Size L x 175cm W x 86cm H x 160cm
  • Treadmill weight 120kg
Pros
  • Great workout given – it’s a curved treadmill
  • Higher calorie-burning workouts as your legs are the engine
  • Durable and robust
  • Great display for linking media to
  • Great life span
Cons
  • Harder workouts may mean higher motivation
  • Limited design options

Overview

This running machine takes curved treadmills to a new level. With this machine, the top speed is as fast as you can go, giving you more power, more strength and ultimately meaning you benefit more from the user-powered running deck far more.

It has great back and neck posture forcing due to the design. This treadmill is far more natural, in both practical design and aesthetic, and will give you greater benefits than a powered treadmill.

Incline settings don’t matter, top speed doesn’t matter, and you’ll still be keeping up with most runners. It’s a professional treadmill with a sturdy running belt, compact treadmill design and to be honest, if I’m being truly truthful, it’s one of my favourite machines of all times.

From the design to the demands of the workout, I’d favour this user-powered machine over something like exercise bikes, for example any day of the week.

Best For Under 1K (2022’s best home treadmill for under £1000):

ProForm Carbon TL Folding Treadmill £799.00

Key Features

  • Foldable for easy access
  • Built-in tablet holder
  • Weight capacity – 110kg
  • Footprint 157 x 75 x 118cm
  • Product weight – 51kg
  • iFit family membership (if purchased)
  • Sturdy motor
  • Great design
  • Bluetooth enabled
Pros
  • Allows you to hook up media to it
  • Great structural support due to cushioning
  • Precision rollers
  • Great for small spaces
  • Easily folded away
Cons
  • Smaller unit
  • Limited functionality

Overview

Is it the best treadmill on the market? No, but this lovely treadmill is any space saver’s dream. It’s got a sturdy enough design, all necessary features and for a great price. You can use monthly installments to pay if you’d like and if you want to go the extra mile then they have the iFit family membership for you too.

It’s one of the best folding treadmills I’ve ever seen, and it’s cheap, considering a folding treadmill can be expensive at times. Its max speed is good, its max user weight is good, and the Bluetooth connectivity means it’s a great all-round unit.

And if you’re worried about hitting that max speed and making noise then don’t worry, just because it’s a cheap treadmill doesn’t mean it’s badly built. Its running belt has been made by top professionals and, unlike a curved running surface, it’s got a suitable tread noise level.

It’s a budget treadmill with great effect. Good for cardio fitness in the home and especially for steady-state cardio.

So if you want what I think is a great folding treadmill for effective cardio fitness then this is the one for you.

Conclusion

To conclude, well, yet again, we’ve got some great treadmills here in the UK. We have a great range of styles for a great range of runners and with all of these, every single one of them, you’ll be burning fat and hitting targets in no time.

Remember, it’s not just about price it’s not just about design, it’s about you. Your choice of treadmill could be the difference between hitting your prime target in just eight weeks or taking a little longer. Don’t just search for the cheapest treadmill, search for the one that works for you.

And it’s not just about max speed either. The human body can be fragile, injuries can occur often with the amount of strain us fitness pros can put on it.

So always try your hardest to find well-cushioned running decks (amongst other running deck features).
